Who can enrol in your courses? Our courses are open to Foreign Domestic Workers (FDWs), local caregivers, family caregivers, Singaporeans, PRs, and anyone interested in learning professional elder caregiving skills. No prior experience is required for most basic courses, and we welcome learners of all backgrounds who have a genuine interest in providing compassionate care to seniors.
What courses do you offer? We offer several programs including: 1) Basic Elder Caregiver Training (Set ABC) covering care for walking, wheelchair-bound, and bedbound seniors; 2) Comprehensive Elder Caregiver Course with Volunteer Service at Nursing Home; 3) AIC Caregivers Training Grant (CTG) short courses on family communication, handling difficult situations, dementia care, and caregiver self-care; 4) Post Hospital Care & Therapy courses. Each program combines theoretical knowledge with practical hands-on training
What is the Caregivers Training Grant (CTG)? The Caregivers Training Grant (CTG) is a subsidy by the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) for eligible caregivers. As an AIC-approved training provider, we offer CTG-supported short courses with subsidized fees. This grant is available for Singaporeans, PRs, and approved Foreign Domestic Workers who are caring for eligible seniors. The grant significantly reduces course fees, making professional training more accessible.
Do I need prior caregiving experience? No prior experience is required for our basic courses! We welcome complete beginners and design our training to be accessible for everyone. Our experienced instructors, who are qualified healthcare professionals, will guide you through each step. For advanced courses, some basic knowledge may be beneficial, but we'll assess your needs during registration and recommend the most suitable program for your level.
What will I learn in the courses? Our courses provide practical, hands-on training covering essential caregiving skills including: daily care routines for seniors with different mobility levels, safety protocols and emergency response, communication techniques with seniors and families, understanding common age-related conditions like dementia, proper body mechanics to prevent injury, and emotional support and self-care for caregivers. Training includes situational scenarios, practicum sessions, and real-life application.
What language are the courses conducted in? Our courses are primarily conducted in English, with instructors who can explain concepts clearly to non-native English speakers. We understand that many of our FDW students are still developing their English proficiency, so our trainers use simple language, visual demonstrations, and hands-on practice to ensure everyone can learn effectively regardless of their English level.
How long is each session? Usually 4 to 6 hours. Course duration varies by program. During registration, we'll provide exact schedules and help you choose a timing that works with your availability.
What is the course fee? Course fees vary depending on the program. Basic courses for FDWs are priced affordably to ensure accessibility. Contact us after registration for specific fee information and to learn about and payment plans. We're committed to making quality caregiver training accessible to all.
Will I receive a certificate? Yes! Upon successful completion of your course, you will receive a certificate from Legend Training Centre. For AIC CTG courses, you'll receive an AIC-recognized certificate that is nationally recognized in Singapore. These certificates demonstrate your professional training as an elderly caregiver.
What happens after I register? After submitting your registration, our team will contact you within 24 hours via phone or email. We'll discuss your course selection, answer any questions, provide fee information and subsidy eligibility, and schedule your course dates. We'll also send you information about what to bring and how to prepare for your first day of training.
Where is the training centre located? Our training facility is located 7 min walk from Paya Lebar MRT.
